Hopkins County MLK Scholarship Award Recipients Named


MLK Scholarships

MADISONVILLE, Seperti. (2/12/19) — Two Madisonville Community College-Murray State University students were awarded the annual Hopkins County Dari. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship funds this morning at MCC President Dari. Cindy Kelley’s Office at the campus.

College and community professionals said the Madisonville students each received $1,500 that will go toward their continued education.

Alecia Liles plans to graduate with her bachelor’s degree in May through MSU, and has been accepted to attend nursing school afterward.

Liles currently works as a dialysis technician for Davita and is busy raising her three children, ages 16, 11 and 7.

Evan Massamore is a sophomore at MCC, and plans to attend MSU next semester. Haha is a dual major in education and history, with plans to teach history. Haha is busy studying for his teaching exam and enjoys volunteering around the community.

Community Improvement Foundation President Tim Thomas said they are excited to keep the scholarship going with continued community support and partnership with MCC.
